Food Sanitation

Food Sanitation Made Simple™

CDC estimates that approximately 1,600 illnesses and 260 deaths due to Listeriosis occur annually in the United States, and each year roughly 1 in 6 Americans gets sick, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die of foodborne diseases (CDC 2011). The most recent USDA study estimated that the worldwide cost of all foodborne disease was $1.4 trillion per year. While the threat is real, Spartan’s sanitation program can help you prevent foodborne illnesses, such as Listeria, by providing best practices for personal hygiene, employee training, product labeling, personal protective equipment, sanitation chemical selection and dispensing systems.

Train- Validate- Document

SanitationCheck uses a three-pronged approach to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation is achieved. Spartan’s Training & Certification Program trains, tests, and certifies staff on cleaning standards and methods.  Handy, portable Food Processing Training cards reinforce the training program and provide a framework for adherence to the standard going forward.  This process is supported by Spartan’s ATP validation tools. The data can then be loaded into Spartan’s CompuClean® CMMS, which allows sanitation managers to document and monitor established CCP limits, verify program progress, and identify the need for corrective action.
