CARPETED SURFACE STAIR CLEANING


Tools & Materials Needed:

Goggles and gloves
Back pack vacuum with carpet tool and crevice tool
Spray bottle of disinfectant
Carpet Stain Remover
Clean cloths and glass cleaners


Procedures:
1.Check to see if any light bulbs are not working in the light fixture or the “Exit” sign in the stairwell. If so, remove the cover and replace the bulbs. Clean cover and replace.
2.Pick up loose debris.
3.Put on personal protective equipment.
4.Starting at the top and working down, place the crevice tool on the vacuum and clean the edges of the stairs and the crevice where the riser and stair pad meet. Remove spots or stains as you work your way down.
5.Working from the bottom up, spray a cloth until wet with disinfectant and clean the hand rails. When the cloth becomes soiled, change the cloth.
6.Put the carpet tool on the vacuum and vacuum the stair pads and risers, working your way down the stairs.
7.Clean all equipment and store in the usual manner.
