In fire, this material may decompose and produce irritating vapors, chlorine gas and oxides of sodium. When heated or in contact with many metals, this product gives off oxygen which may increase fire hazard. Contain run-off water to prevent environmental damage. CORROSIVE:
CAUSES EYE AND SKIN BURNS: Symptoms include chemical burns, pain, redness, swelling of the conjunctiva and tissue destruction.
HARMFUL CONTACT MAY NOT CAUSE IMMEDIATE PAIN.
HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED: Causes damage to esophagus and mucous membranes with symptoms of pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
HARMFUL IF INHALED: This product is irritating to the nose, mouth, throat and lungs. It may also cause burns to the respiratory tract with the production of lung edema which can result in shortness of breath, wheezing, choking, chest pain and impairment of lung function. Inhalation of high concentrations of mist can result in permanent lung damage.
DO NOT GET IN EYES, ON SKIN OR CLOTHING. DO NOT BREATHE PRODUCT VAPOR OR MIST. DO NOT SWALLOW. USE WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. WASH THOROUGHLY AFTER HANDLING.
Conditions Aggravated by Use:
Not recommended for use by persons with heart conditions or chronic respiratory problems such as asthma; emphysema or obstructive lung disease. May aggravate preexisting skin disorders.
Emergency & First Aid Procedures:
Eyes:
Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses if present; after the first 5 minutes; then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice.
Skin:
Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
Ingestion:
Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by the poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Inhalation:
Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing; call 911 or an ambulance; then give artificial respiration; preferably by mouth -to-mouth; if possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice.

Note to Physician: Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.

Material is Released or Spilled:
Contain large spills and transfer the material to appropriate containers for reclamation or disposal. Absorb remaining material or small spills with an inert material and dispose of in accordance with federal, state and local regulations. Keep spill out of storm sewers and waterways.

Dispose of in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Respiratory Protection:
Not expected to be required with normal use. However if exposure limits are exceeded (see Section II) or if respiratory irritation occurs, the use of a NIOSH approved respirator suitable for the use-conditions and chemicals listed in Section II should be considered. (N95 or greater with an acid gas cartridge recommended) Or use self contained breathing apparatus.
Ventilation:
Provide good general ventilation. Local exhaust ventilation may be necessary for some operations. Product decomposes slowly to produce chlorine gas.
Protective Gloves(Specify Type):
Rubber or other impervious gloves are recommended when handling product.
Eye Protection(Specify Type):
Splash goggles and face shield are recommended when handling product.
Other Protective Equipment:
Use of rubber aprons; rubber boots and other protective clothing is recommended where contact with body may occur. Eye wash stations and washing facilities should be readily accessible in areas where product is handled.. See 29 CFR 1910.132-138 for further guidance.

Precautions; Handling & Storing:
Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area. Keep product temperature below 85 F and above 32 F. Store in upright vented, closed containers protected from direct sunlight. Do not store near acids, heat or oxidizable materials or organics. Empty containers retain product residue, continue to obey safety and handling precautions. Contact with ammonia and amine-based compounds can generate toxic chloramine compounds. Contact with acids can release dangerous chlorine gas.
Other Precautions:
Keep out of reach of children. Mix only with water. Do not use or mix with other cleaning products.
